Caging the pen: censorship in AustraliaAdelaide PEN proudly introduces a new annual writing competition to the Australian literary scene – a creative non-fiction fundraiser for PEN.
The inaugural title - ‘Caging the pen: censorship in Australia’ - invites creative reflection on increasing censorship in Australia. It seeks insight into the place of the word in the political climate of anti-terror(ism) which intensified after the September 11 attack on the twin towers of New York in 2001.
The winner will receive a cash prize of $100 and publication in Wet Ink in the December 2008 issue.
Adelaide PEN acknowledges Wet Ink for their ongoing support and help to make this competition possible.
